I installed ALSA 0.9.4 to find none of the IEC958 options appeared in
alsamixer. After installing the CVS version (6/8/03 I believe) all of
the SPDIF-related options appeared. However none of the combinations of
settings I tried produced output, or output that my receiver could
recognize. Maybe I just someone's working asound.conf / asound.state?
Analog playback through the 1/8" jack works perfect. First I want to get
PCM stereo working on the SPDIF, and then AC3 and DTS output. Are there
any test .ac3 streams available on the net? Also, command line options
for ac3dec and/or mplayer to test my config would be great.
