That's not quite correct, I'm afraid. Although heavily patched, I'm running a plain 2.4.21 kernel. But module-init-tools-0.9.12 is already in place. Don't know if it gets in the way. I must mention that alsa-driver-0.9.4 has been always built from stock source tarball, without any glitches, whatsoever. In fact its perfectly running this very moment.
