Yes, ac97 chip is CMI9x38 in my system.
However, still I can not hear anything.
I can record it and send to other machine through networks so I knew recording works well.
But I can not hear anything...
I did "arecord afile" and then did "aplay afile".
Do you think my M/B is wrong or broken?

if your ac97 chip is CMI9x38, then it's ok.  the chip has actually
no PCM volume but only PCM switch.
