Hi,

Does anyone have a clue on how to disable the playback while still allowing recording from the microphone using Audigy2? I'm using Alsa 0.9.6.

The recording itself can't be enabled by e.g. KMix. In order to record/hear from the mic, I've to run alsamixer, put the "AC97 Capture" up and increase volume & select "Capture" and "Mic" as the recording sources. "Capture" is called IGain in KMix, but it can't be selected as the recording source. "AC97Capture" has no slider in KMix. Mic has of course and recording can be muted/enabled by switching the recording source from Mic to any other while AC97Capture and Capture have been set correctly in alsamixer.

After that, it's possible to record but at the same time everything from the Microphone is also heard, and everything heard will also be recorded, essentially disabling the ability to voice communicate :(

If I take "Capture" out (disselect it as the rec. src.), nothing will be recorded. Muting the playback of "Mic" doesn't mute anything.

Anyone battled with this? I'll continue to try various settings, there are so many sliders in alsamixer and I have no idea about what most of them do / should do :)
