Hi
I'm new to this list, but not to ALSA - been happily using it for a
while now.
What I am looking for is a way of forcing all playback with a minimum
sample rate of 32kHz.
I've put the following into /etc/asound.conf:
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave {
pcm "hw:0,0"
rate 32000
}
}
Which seems to work for ALSA apps (I use a different pcm, e.g. hw:0,0 if
I don't want conversion to happen, as this plug will downsample as
well).
However, I'd like the OSS-emulation layer to do this as well. Is this
possible?
The reason for this: My soundcard (Audiophile 2496) is connected via
spdif to a pair of Edirol MA-10D speakers. The speakers insist on a
sample rate of 32-96kHz, and anything played to them below 32kHz results
in silence - mostly Flash movies, Real streams - the usual web-stuff.
Thanks
Myk
