>From WIKI http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=emu10k1 When using a surround-sound system with the SBLive 5.1, you'll initially nothing but an annoying hum from the middle speaker when you load the ALSA drivers. To make the middle speaker work properly, mute the channel entitled "SB Live Analog/Digital Output Jack". On my system, it is on the far right of alsamixer.
