Hey all,
I have been using alsa for a while, and still have problems with 5.1 channel
audio - the front (2 spkrs), centre, and subwoofer work like a charm -
however not a squeak is heard from the rear speakers. I'm currently using the
onboard audio of my mother board (Gigabyte SINXP-1394). And the intel_8x0
sound driver.
this is the output of lspci -v:
00:02.7 Multimedia audio controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] Sound
Controller (rev a0)
Subsystem: Giga-byte Technology: Unknown device a002
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 9
I/O ports at d800 [size=256]
I/O ports at dc00 [size=128]
Capabilities: [48] Power Management version 2
In this setup (onboard sound - no soundcard) the centre/subwoofa plugs into
the MIC In, front speakers to line out, and rear to line in. (mobo supports
5.1 channel sound like this)
I have tried unmuting _everything_ in the amixer - but to no avail - no sound
at all will come out of my rear speakers - any ideas are welcome.
Thanks for your time,
Drossos Stamboulakis
