While browsing through the user comments for the Soundblaster Live Value card (device id - 1102:0006), I came across this comment by Hviid, dated 28 april 2003, wherein he says that the SB Live shipped with the Dell dimension series 8200 is not supported. What is the status of that card now ?
While using OSS, I was using the trial version of the emu10k1x (as opposed to the emu10k1 module) driver. Now, I want to use ALSA and I find that whatever I do, I am just not able to hear anything. Could somebody out there confirm whether the above card is ALSA supported ? I posted this question to several newsgroups and some people replied saying that their SB Live! is supported. However, this issue I have described above is only with the SB Live! drivers shipped by Dell. So, I am not sure if their responses apply to my case at all. I would appreciate it if a person who has this card on a Dell machine has managed to get it working with ALSA ?
