Hi all
I'm having trouble getting my SB PCI 128 midi port working.
I have the simplest drum-machine known to man - hence I believe it is sending
midi events.
I have read the MIDI HOWTO, and have compiled some of the test programs - all
of which seem to indicate that my ALSA installation is OK (the sound is OK).
I've never used the midi port on this (or indeed any other) card under Linux,
nor have I used the cable joining the card and drum-machine - so I may have
fscked up.
Does midi have an "enable" (much like the ALSA audio mute-by-default)? If so,
where do I find it?
Muse/fluidsynth are happy with the ALSA midi ports: in desperation I tried;
# dd if=/dev/snd/midi | hexdump
...which showed no activity at all.
I know that lspci reports the card as a 5880 chipset, but it's undeniable that
the ens1371 seems to work (for jack @ -n 256 at least).
Is there anything else I should try?
For info, the aadebug script output is as below.
Thanks for your time :)
