Can anyone tell me why I get this error whenever I try to start an application (game) in Wine?

ALSA sound/drivers/mpu401/mpu401_uart.c:226: cmd: 0x3f failed at 0x330 (status = 0xff, data = 0xff)
ALSA sound/drivers/mpu401/mpu401_uart.c:206: cmd: tx timeout (status = 0xff)

I've just upgraded to kernel 2.6.3 and that seems to to have solved the "sound-slot-1" problem, but I still can't get sound in Wine.

Can someone please help me out with this?

Don't set 'mpu_port' for snd-intel8x0 module. It appears that MPU port is at another location or non-existent (0xff means that nothing is on the i/o port).

Thanks Jaroslav,

I removed mpu_port from my modules.conf and rebooted, but I still get the same message. In fact it made no diferrence at all. It's as if the mpu_port was being loaded somewhere else and not in modules.conf. Anywhere else I should look?

Thanks again
