I upgraded my hardware a while back. My new system has an integrated sound card. The card was not supported by the version of ALSA that came with my SuSe 8.2 system, so I was using my old Yamaha soundcard, which worked fine, except that 'system sounds' did not play properly (they did work properly when I first installed SuSe on my old hardware).
I have just upgraded to KDE3.2 - I thought that might solve the sound problem, but it didn't (it's a great desktop though!). Now I have upgraded ALSA to a version that does support my onboard sound card and I am able to play CDs through the card, but I can't play any .wav files (system or otherwise). I have tried using XMMS, noatun and Kaboodle. Here is the output from the alsadebug script. I would really appreciate some help!!
