Hi!
I have a system with an onboard audio codec from Sigmatel STAC9758. The
mainboard's manufacturer is Fujitsu-Siemens Computers. The cipset is VIA's
K8T800 with an AMD Athlon64 processor. Recently I installed SuSE 9.0 AMD
64-Bit version and tried to get the sound working. SuSE recognizes a VIA8233
sound, but using aplay to play a test .wav file doesn't do anything else but
saying "Playing wav file ..." (no sound).
I checked the mute settings with alsamixer and everything seems to be ok
(Mute is off). Checking /proc/asound/ {version | cards | devices} seems also
to be ok.
Finally I made an update from ALSA 0.96 to 1.0.1, but that didn't help
either. I'm quite a sound newbie and would appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks in advance!
Brix
