That got Noatun to play back oggs and mp3s!  Woohoo!  Only now when I play audio CDs
 with KsCD, they show as playing but I don't hear anything.  I checked all the volume
controls I could find, including the one on KsCD.  Oh well, I guess I'll try to
figure that out after I return from vacation.

The OSS kernel drivers are loaded.  Unload and/or remove them to be
able to use the ALSA drivers.
