hey all. i have a list of problems with my SBLive card. i though it was related to one source but apperantly its a bunch of problems mixed up in all together.
so if u guys could help me up to solve some of them that would be one step twards victory :) (1) ALSA cant detect my card: --------------------------------------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/rc.d# cat /proc/asound/cards --- no soundcards --- [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/rc.d# cat /var/log/syslog | less PCI: Enabling device 00:08.1 (0004 -> 0005) Mar 18 05:38:04 XCoRe kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 00:08.0. I/O at 0x9000 [0x9007]. ----------------------------------------------------- pretty wierd. just by going though the syslog i noticed that ALSA was tryn to open the snd-emu10k1.o library when what i have in that directory is snd-emu10k1.o.gz. should i unpack it?? also: ----------------------------------------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/sound/pci/emu10k1# lsmod Module Size Used by Not tainted snd-pcm-oss 37828 0 (autoclean) (unused) snd-pcm 56640 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm-oss] snd-timer 13508 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm] snd-page-alloc 6356 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm] snd-mixer-oss 12728 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm-oss] snd 30148 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm-oss snd-pcm snd-timer snd-mixer-oss] soundcore 3332 0 (autoclean) [snd] emu10k1-gp 1352 0 (unused) gameport 1452 0 [emu10k1-gp] ------------------------------------------------------ i tried compiling the 2.6.4 kernel and got the same errors so i guess the problem is somewhere with ALSA itself. thats the first problem i gotta solve before moving to the next one. My other problem is probably a bug either in the distro or the drivers themselves. however i've emailed the developers, hopefully i'll get a response from them soon. i was also wonderring where do i put the parameter pci=biosirq?? i tried putting it into modules.conf and into lilo.conf, but nothing interesting happend, in particular... :) ohh i forgot, my set: Slackware 9.1 (had the exact same problems in slack9.0) kernel 2.4.22 also have 2.6.4 SBLive ADI1980 AC98 onboard (disabled via bios) any ideas or help will be sUpEr, im over-frustrated with this issue (simpley spend an unbelievble amount of time around this). thnx for taking the time :) -X- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
