Hi there,

Mainly because I want to use the jack server, I use alsa driver on my debian laptop,
which has a intel 810 chipset. When I insert the modules in kernel space, I have one message which seems not right :)

" MC'97 1 converters and GPIO not ready (0xf200)
Apr 27 08:54:05 gabou-laptop kernel: intel8x0_measure_ac97_clock: measured 49419 usecs
Apr 27 08:54:05 gabou-laptop kernel: intel8x0: clocking to 48000"

What does the first line mean ?

I don't know if it is related to alsa drivers and to this eror message or not, but I have problems regarding sound quality with a lot of audio softwares, like rhythmbox (which seems to use the OSS emulation) and alsaplayer (which should be alsa native ;) ). There is a very strong artefact, sounds like aliasing, which isn't so strong with xmms (using alsa output plug-in), or mplayer. The quality is so bad that I cannot use theses softwares !

I am using a 2.6.4 kernel compiled from the kernel.org official sources, no patch applied (I think the alsa version is 1.02c, but I am not sure).

Cheers,

David
