Hi folks

I just upgraded to v1.0.4 of the alsa drivers and I've lost my OSS sound
to the digital output on my Audigy 2. I can't make sense of this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ed]$ cat /proc/asound/devices
  0: [0- 0]: ctl
  4: [0- 0]: hardware dependent
  9: [0- 1]: raw midi
  8: [0- 0]: raw midi
 19: [0- 3]: digital audio playback
 26: [0- 2]: digital audio capture
 25: [0- 1]: digital audio capture
 16: [0- 0]: digital audio playback
 24: [0- 0]: digital audio capture
 33:       : timer

Shows device 0 or 3 as the digital playback. However:

$ aplay -D hw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/KDE_Startup.wav
ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1057:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D3p failed:
No such device
aplay: main:507: audio open error: No such device

And :

$ aplay -D hw:0,0 /usr/share/sounds/KDE_Startup.wav
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/KDE_Startup.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little
Endian, Rate 22050 Hz, Mono

results in the audio coming out of the analog line out.

This:

$ aplay -D spdif /usr/share/sounds/KDE_Startup.wav

works, so I know the hardware is ok.

Can someone see what I am doing wrong, or is it a bug? This was working
until I recently upgraded. Unfortunately I don't have a record of what
I was using before 1.0.4 :(

Thanks for any info.
