Hi,

What is wrong with the mixer of SB Live?

It needs face lifting. I would like to do this, but I don't have SB Live (only Audigy). Is there any voluteer to test patches ???

of course!

Mostly live mixer under ALSA uses AC97 codec to volume control and OSS uses digital mixer implemented in DSP.

Why line out control called "Wave Sur"?

This is used for mirroring stereo sound to rear speakers.

Why Master, PCM and Wave controls output only to my headphones?

These controls are in AC97 and AC97 is only 2 channel.

What is the Wave control?

Wave is used to set volume on stereo playback - it is implemented in DSP (Wave, Wave surround, Wave LFE, Wave center).
For 5.1 sound there are other controls (Wave, Surround, LFE, Center)

I just played with it a bit (I moved sb live! to the computer I usually use), found out that the mixer changed since a year or two ago and also found yout that now there is no way to control overall volume (when 5.1 speakers are plugged in).

master controls something (from explanation above I guess it's the two front speakers) and some wave controls have some kind of control over the speakers as well (definitely over the rear ones).

volume knob on the speakers that I haven't used for ages is suddenly so important:-)

do you know how's the front panel support now - is it possible to record via line in and RCA inputs on liveDrive?
