I mean Flash applets. How can I configure my browser the way you told me?

Sorry, I'm not sure where you would change this - I use a soundcard with hardware mixing so it's not needed on my system. Maybe you can Google
for it or someone else on the list can answer.

It's not possible to "fix" flush player because it's a plugin (not an
independent process). The only way would be to start the browser with aoss wrapper or a equivalent one for the sound daemon (e.g. artsdsp or
essdsp) from the very beginning.

Takashi

Ok, it works. Thanx!

it? What is the referent to the "it"? Others might be interested in the
solution. HOw did you solve the problem?

Ok, sorry. I've used the aoss wrapper:
- download and install the alsa-oss package
- start firefox this way:
$aoss firefox

Thanks. That should be useful for others as well. Is another possibility to
somehow have the plugin go through aoss when it plugs itself in?

Searching on Google I read that on Ubuntu there's a file:

/etc/mozilla-firefox/mozilla-firefoxrc

Here you have to change the variable FIREFOX_DSP from "auto" to "aoss".
I use Debian, I've got a similar file:

/etc/mozilla/mozillarc

and the variable whitin it is MOZILLA_DSP. I've tried to make the change above, but it doesn't work...
