Bonjour,
I have a "smartlink modem" and installed slmodemd to have it working.
If I run "slmodemd --alsa" command, there is no problem a link
ttySL0-->pts/n is created and the modem works.
If I try to use an init script to launch the service at boot time it
doesn't work and an error message is displayed:
<---------------
ALSA lib conf.c: 1592 (snd_config_load1) _top_level:51:23: no such file
or directory
2837:(snd_config_hook_load)
/etc/alsa/cards/aliases.conf may be old or corrupted: consider to remove
or fix it
2700:(snd_config_hook_call): function
snd_config_hook_load returned error: No such file or directory.
pcm.c:1969: (snd_pcm_open_conf) Invalid type fpr PCM modem:1 definition
(id: modem, value: cards.pcm.modem)
error: alsa setup: cannot open playback device 'modem:1': invalid
argument error cannot setup device: 'modem:1'
------------->
If I remove /etc/alsa/cards/aliases.conf file, no problem occurs....
So, I think that the problem is there... how to update this file?
I run fedora core 4. slmodemd 2.9.10 compiled with alsa.
lspci answers:
0:1e.3 Modem: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family)
AC'97 Modem Controller (rev 03)
Thanks for any help.
