None of the people complaining about it seem very motivated to track it down... for example some have reported that older versions work, which could be critical for debugging this, but no one has bothered to verify it. The BSD Azalia driver is probably based on the original driver from Intel, same as the ALSA driver. For anyone waiting for this to fix itself, it's unlikely, as the developers do not have the hardware to test it! More information is needed from the users.
