Sorry, I was not accurate. With very short files (I tryed 10ms and 20ms) the player exits after 10 seconds (which is "forever" compared to 10ms); with long files (several minutes) it's much longer than that (I've never seen the end: "forever" compared to my patience). > Is it possible that some other program is using the device? > ("lsof /dev/dsp* /dev/snd/*") I don't know, I'll try. However, it's unlikely. The default sound card is card 0 (a SoundBalster Audigy2), the UA-100 gets mapped to card 1 when I turn it on.
