I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this: I have a Dell Latitude D610. Intel sound card, works great. One problem (at least to me) There are 3 volume controls, that affect the volume on the machine. PCM MASTER and HEADPHONE.
I have found that the HEADPHONE is independent of the other two in terms of volume levels. IE I can adjust the headphone volume independent of the master/PCM volume. I would like to have an .asoundrc that would effectively bind the two together such that any application that adjusts one, would automagically adjust the other to the same level. cron scripts that check the levels are not an option, nor are other volume scripts ( I have written some but am not happy with the idea) Plus KDE automagically has a nice OSD that i would enjoy having, but it does not allow for any form of binding of the two mixers. -- -Ryan
