Hi all

I have a bcf2000 that used to work perfectly. Sometime in the last two
months it stopped responding to midi input, although it still sends midi
output. Both over usb.

I'm using 2.6.16-rt23 kernel, and compiled and installed alsa-1.0.11
(checkd that via /proc/asound/version). I've tried the following:

- send the v1.10 firmware upgrade to the unit. That worked fine.

- turn on midi trace from ardour 0.99.3. It shows midi being sent and
received.

- connecting a keyboard to the bcf using the qjackctl midi patch bay.
The volume slider on the keyboard used to cause the first bcf2000 slider
to move, but doesn't anymore.

- saving midi output using cat and sending the bytes back to the
bcf2000. No response from the bcf2000. Same result using amidi to send
and receive.

- taking the unit to a dealer. They checked it out and say it works 100%
with Nuendo and some other windows software. So it's not the hardware.

- I've checked that the unit is in the correct usb mode (u2).

- attaching the output from ardour to amidimon and the bcf2000 at the
same time. amidimon shows the correct midi messages being sent.

So how do I find out where things are going wrong? Is there a debug flag
or /proc file I can set to dump midi output as it's sent?

thanks
John
