2.6.17 merge window ended 02/04. 1.0.11 final has been released 19/04. AFAIK the Kernel release candiate versions allow only bugfix patches. So the ALSA 1.0.11rc4 in kernel might not be identical to 1.0.11rc4 upstream ALSA version.
