Hello I would like to log the amplitude level of the Line capture input every 20 seconds. This would log a numerical value similar to the output of "arecord -vv" (a textual percentage VU-meter), "ameter" (graphical VU-meter for X), or "ecasignalview" (ncurses-based numerical summary). Ideally I would like to just "sniff" the device from a script, thus not actually opening the devices as it may or may not be open already. Ideas very welcome.
