I didn't get an answer the last time I asked, so I'll just rudely bump the
issue:
I'm trying to modify the default configuration
(/usr/share/alsa/cards/ICE1712.conf) to use a better sample rate converter.
But I can't figure out the syntax.
Can somebody please tell me how to modify this:

@args.CARD {
type string
}
type asym
playback.pcm {
type plug
slave.pcm {
@func concat
strings [ "dmix:" $CARD ",FORMAT=S32_LE,RATE=44100" ]
