Subject: Configure sound card for hundreds devices at once
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi all,

I have an problem with automatic configuring the volume levels with ALSA.
I made a Linux system with only a kernel, busybox and some library's.
The linux system must be installed on the exact same hardware like hundreds
times.

The first time I installed ALSA (static compiled in the kernel) I must
enable (un-mute) the volume levels in '*alsamixer*'.
Then I stored the levels with '*alsctl store*'.

Everytime the system is booting I run the command 'alsactl -F restore'.

Everything goes perfect. But if I *change the harddisk (flash-card) from the
device to another (same hardware) device I get an error during booting:*

Error if '*alsactl -F restore* ' is run I get the following errors:

1. alsactl: set_control:970: failed to obtain info for control #3 (No such
file or directory)
2. alsactl: set_control:1085: bad control.16.value type

Error 1 occures 11 times.

I run kernel 2.6.23.1.

Does someone have an idea what is going wrong?

thanx in advance.

P.S. If i run alsamixer on the new device and save the settings. Everything
is perfect. But if I change the harddisk (flash-card) back to another device
I have the same problem.
