I have a Inter HDA device and my problem is that I want to capture input (e.g. in Ekiga for VOIP) from the mic port of my dock (Thinkpad T61p withAdvanced mini dock)
While I can listen to the input from this port, It seems to me that I cannot capure from it. The reason might be that I can select Mic, Internal Mic and Mix,as input sources but not Docking Mic, however, I do have the Docking mic available for playback. btw, this is my sound card, and the problem appeared with several versions of alsa including the 1.16 as in ubuntu hardy alpha5. 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) I hope this is the right place/way for that problem...
