Looking at your pastebin output everything looks fine from an alsa
perspective. Your card is recognized and the proper driver is loaded.
So this will be a little bit of grasping at straws.
I notice that while you have the pcm main volume turned up, you have
none of the sub volumes turned up.
Try turning up the front volume
1. control.1 {
2. comment.access 'read write'
3. comment.type INTEGER
4. comment.count 2
5. comment.range '0 - 39'
6. comment.dbmin -5850
7. comment.dbmax 0
8. iface MIXER
9. name 'Front Playback Volume'
10. value.0 0
11. value.1 0
There have been some people reporting on this list that they could not
get the intel hda card that you have to work in 2.6.25, while it did
work in 2.6.24. You might try an older kernel to see if it fixes the
problem if the volume adjust doesn't work.
This is a long shot, but you can try playing around with the model
parameters to see if you can find one that matches your device better.
Your pastebin doesn't show a /etc/modprobe.conf file, so you would have
to create it.
Add them in the /etc/modprobe.conf file as lines like:
options snd_hda_intel model=3stack or 6stack or ...
Each codec may have a model table for different configurations.
If your machine isn't listed there, the default (usually minimal)
configuration is set up. You can pass "model=<name>" option to
specify a certain model in such a case. There are different
models depending on the codec chip.
