Hi list. I'm new here. I checked the archives, but nothing there
seems relevant to this.
This is a new machine; AMD Turion 64 bit running Sidux xfce (Debian
based), stock kernel. I've run alsaconf as root, and fiddled with
volume with alsamixergui. I've re-started alsa. I've never heard a
peep from the sound system. Playing a .wav file produces:
Playing WAVE '/home/keeling/snd/sparcle.wav' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate 11025 Hz,
Mono
but no sound. Here's some of what I've found. A Google search turns
up something suggesting (this w a dv7):
