Hi all, Hope this is in the right place. I've got a VIA EPIA M10000 with an LFS system based around kernel 2.6.22.5 and alsa-lib 1.0.19. Sound works for 2-channel playback but I want to start using all 6 channels that the hardware gives (VIA VT1616 AC97 connected to VT8235 south bridge).
However, the 6-channel playback is done via card 0, device 1 and I can only get amixer to access the controls of device 0 - which doesn't include the controls to enable the other four analogue outputs! (these being "Line In as Surround" and "Mic Input as Centre/LFE" I've tried a whole load of command line arguments, but all just give me errors: # amixer -c 0 -D 1 ALSA lib control.c:909:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL 1 amixer: Mixer attach 1 error: No such file or directory # amixer -Dhw:0,1 ALSA lib conf.c:3843:(parse_args) Unknown parameter 1 ALSA lib conf.c:3969:(snd_config_expand) Parse arguments error: No such file or directory ALSA lib control.c:909:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL hw:0,1 amixer: Mixer attach hw:0,1 error: No such file or directory Generally it seems that amixer can only open the default device. So, can I use my .asoundrc to force device 1 to be the default CTL? Or is there some format of arguments that'll make it open device 1?
