It depend on how many inputs you want and how much money you have for that. For recording, you have the choice between semi-pro cards like, as example, the ones from M-audio, or professional cards like the one from Hammerfall. The cards from the second category have separated A/D and D/A converters but are much more expansive and may be an overkill for what you want to do. Beside the alsa site, you can find useful informations like the names of the supported cards into ALSA_Configuration.txt (kernel doc or alsa-driver doc).
