I didn't look at all the rack mounted models, but I know one of the portable models has a limiter built in.
I'm not a believer that computers are the solution for everything. For some sound recording, I use a solid state recorder then edit with Audacity. A lot of things can go wrong with recording on a computer. You need to insure only one source is recorded, which Audacity does, but some recorders just record the "mixer".
