Hi all, I'm joining this thread because I also have an ION based system.
I wish to thank VDR for your suggestions, my Debian system (squeeze)
has now working audio (analog&hdmi).

But I think some little fix is required...
The problem is the analog volume.
alsamixer shows all sliders at 100% but when I watch a video in
youtube for example, the volume is still too low.
I can't understand what's wrong...

After some random modifications, I found the "alsactl init" command and it says:
Unknown hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Nvidia MCP79/7A HDMI"
"HDA:10ec0888,16f3a625,00100001 HDA:10de0007,10de0101,00100100"
"0x16f3" "0xa625"
Hardware is initialized using a guess method

Any suggestion about what to check?
Thanks in advance!
DaC
