Hello,
I have a big problem with my sound. System>Preferences>Sound doesn't
work at all.
I'm working on Ubuntu 10.10, Acer 6930G. Soundcard probably hda-intel.
Interesting things from terminal:

$ alsamixer
cannot open mixer: No such file or directory
$ alsaconf
alsaconf: command not found
$ locate alsaconf
(gives nothing)
$ aplay -l
aplay: device_list:235: no soundcards found...
$ cd /proc/asound/
bash: cd: /proc/asound/: No such file or directory

I have tried many many things but it just doesn't work. Also, I'm not
that familiar with linux, maybe I'm missing something simple?
Please help!

Best,
mszynisz
