USB ATSC/NTSC tuner card: ALSA 1.0.21 works ALSA 1.0.25 does not
arecord --device=hw:0,0 --channels=2 --format=S16_LE --rate=48000 --duration=30 /dev/null arecord: main:654: audio open error: Invalid argument All we did was update the ALSA drivers for the same kernel (2.6.33) and now we get this mysterious error when doing a snd_pcm_open call. dmesg output doesn't seem to indicate a problem with loading things ... usb 4-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 12 usb 4-2: New USB device found, idVendor=07ca, idProduct=0826 usb 4-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 usb 4-2: Product: AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX usb 4-2: Manufacturer: AVerMedia usb 4-2: SerialNumber: 303537700346 H826 registered V4L2 device video0[video] H826 registered V4L2 device vbi0[vbi] H826 registered V4L2 device radio0[radio] H826 registered ALSA sound card 0 DVB: registering new adapter (H826[0] ATSC) H826[0] ATSC registered DVB adapter 0 DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 0 (H826[0] ATSC)... and we have not changed any other settings in /etc. I have two systems side-by-side so I'm looking at them and comparing them against one another. I couldn't see anything specifically in the changelogs since 1.0.25 that addressed this concern but I very well could have misinterpreted what I was reading. Thoughts? - Paul Braman
