There is no other chip with this silly design. If you want to play multiple streams through one multichannel card, you have to merge them in software (i.e., use virtual devices based on dmix or dshare). > is an internal PCI or PCIexpress card and needs no further breakout > cables? Nowadays, there aren't that many sound cards to begin with. Use Xonar DS/DSX/D1/DX.
