I have two older Schiit USB DACs - a Fulla original and a Fulla 2 - that
show different available rates on two different machines running the same
kernel.

On my late-model AMD 3800 I see:

Rates: 44100, 48000, 88200, 96000

Whereas in my old beater Core Duo I see:

Rates: 44100, 48000

Both machines are running Ubuntu 21.10 standard kernel 5.13.0-21-generic.

It's been awhile (ie certainly before the Ubuntu 21.10 upgrade) since I've
tried either DAC on the old beater Core Duo, but I definitely don't
remember having difficulties with 96KHz sample rates on that machine in the
past.

Is there something obvious I'm missing, like "new and improved USB
functionality that knows better than to try to play these higher-rate files
back on this old pokey machine with its old pokey USB interfaces"?

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.
