The Circle Tap Fastpitch team went 3-2(29-14 overall) in garnering
a 4th
place finish in the ASA National Championship over the weekend.
It was
great to see the offense hit the ball very well over the weekend
in
preparation of the upcoming ISC World Tournament in Kitchener,
ON. CT
placed Chris DeLarwelle and Tim Jorgensen on the 1st team All-American
team as well as Kyle Magnusson and Frankie Perez on the 2nd team.
Here are the results.

Game 1

The Tappers came out ready to play on Thursday. In the bottom
of the 1st
Steve Schucker drew a lead off walk, with one out Chris DeLarwelle
walked,
Frankie Perez came up with an RBI base hit, Tim Jorgensen walked,
Tom
Crouch hit a sac fly to drive in another run followed by an RBI
single by
Bryan Hansen. CT made it a 4-0 game in the 2nd as DeLarwelle
crushed a
solo shot over the 300ft permanent fence. CT tacked on another
in the 4th
as Kyle Magnusson picked up a two out base hit and scored on
a DeLarwelle
base hit. In the 5th Jorgensen led off with a base hit and with
two out
Jamie Knudson singled followed by a Chad Ferguson walk. Steve
Schucker
followed with an RBI single and Magnusson ended the game on a
2RBI base
hit.

The Millers took an early lead in the top of the first as Lucas
Goring led
off the game with a double and scored on a Chad Boom sac fly.
CT came out
banging in the bottom half as Steve Schucker led off with a base
hit, then
with one out DeLarwelle walked and Perez picked up an RBI single,
Tim
Jorgensen followed with a 2RBI triple and Tom Crouch followed
with an RBI
single. MinnDak made it a 4-3 game in the 3rd as Lucas Goring,
Gregg
Cascaes, Chad Boom and Roman Foore all picked up consecutive
two out base
hits. The Tappers answered right back in the bottom half as Perez
led off
with a solo blast, Jorgensen singled, Crouch walked and Kyle
VanAbel hit a
2RBI base hit to make it 7-3. CT added one in the 4th on a Chris
DeLarwelle solo shot. In the 6th MinnDak tightend the game to
8-5 as
Roman Foore drew a lead off walk and then Brian Lammers crushed
a two run
shot. MinnDak added one in the 7th as Foore drew a two out walk
and
Lammers followed with an RBI single to make it 8-6.

This one started out ugly for the Tappers. In the top of the
first with
one out Jeff Ellsworth singled moved to 2nd on a passed ball,
moved to 3rd
on a passed ball and scored on a sac fly by Ryan Wolfe. Stephen
Mullaly
and Rob O'Brien then hit back to back home runs. CT picked up
a run in
the bottom half to make it 3-1 as Kyle Magnusson picked up a
one out
double and scored on a Frankie Perez base hit. Orillia put up
4 more in
the 2nd as Tim Macumber lead off with a solo shot, Sean O'Brien
drew a one
out walk, Chris Miljavac doubled, Ellsworth followed with a 2RBI
double
and with two out Mullaly reached on an error that drove in another
run. 
CT made it a
7-3 game in the bottom of the 2nd as Tom Crouch led off with
a base hit
and with one out Kyle VanAbel hit a two run shot. That would
be it for
the scoring for both sides.

The Tappers took an early lead in the first on a solo shot by
Kyle
Magnusson. The Explorers took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd as Steve
Roberts hit
a lead of solo shot then Eddy Kettlehut singed but a 3 base throwing
error
allowed him to come all the way around to score. The Tappers
took a 3-2
lead in the top of the 4th as Frankie Perez hit a one out single
and would
score on a two out two run shot by Tom Crouch. It would remain
a 3-2 game
until the top of the 6th when CT erupted for 7 runs. DeLarwelle
doubled
to lead off the inning, Perez walked, Jorgensen RBI single, Crouch
walked,
Bryan Hansen reached on a fielder's choice, 2RBI single by Kyle
VanAbel,
RBI fielder's choice by Chad Ferguson, 2RBI base hit by Steve
Shucker and
an RBI single by DeLarwelle.

The Farmers grabbed an early lead in the top of the first as
Paul Rosebush
lead off the game with a base hit and then Zenon Winters followed
with a
two run shot. The game remained 2-0 until the top of the 6th
when Donny
Hale hit a solo shot making it 3-0. CT answered in the bottom
half as
Kyle Magnusson led off with with a base hit followed by a Chris
DeLarwelle
base hit and with one out Tim Jorgensen delivered a 2RBI single
to make it
a 3-2 game. The Farm came back in the top of the 7th as Jason
Hill led
off with a solo shot. With two out Rosebush singled, Winters
singled,
Hale got an infield single and then Collin Abbott picked up a
2RBI single
for the final margin.
