Pyle worked the first five innings, while Cory Avery worked the final inning in relief. The Silverhawks scored one run in the first, as Jason Obregon led off with a base hit, and came around to score on a RBI single by Ron Brannon. The game remained a pitchers duel between Gervasutti and Pyle until the 5th when Rude Pac scored 3 runs on 4 hits. Jason Obregon broke things open with a bases loaded double, driving in two. Joe Vigil pushed an infield hit in front of the plate for the third run. Bakersfield was unable to muster much offense against Pyle, who mixed his change very effectively, amidst the hard stuff. All outs but one were strikeouts or ground outs.
