Help build the future of softball by becoming a member of the Participation Committee! The Softball Ontario Participation Program is pleased to begin the recruitment process for position(s) on the Participation Committee. Participation Committee Members are volunteers who take a strong leadership role in the promotion of Softball in Ontario. Successful candidates will represent the Participation Program on all matters, including attending Participation Committee Meetings, attending at least one Community Event each year, and participating in Softball Ontarios Get In The Game Symposium.
The Participation Committee oversees several Softball Ontario programs including the Softball Association Fundamental Excellence (SAFE) Star Program, the Certified Softball Administrator Program (CSAP), the Try Softball and Active Softball School Programs, the Get In The Game Symposium, and the Community Fun Team. The Participation Committee also develops various new initiatives designed to promote and grow softball. Qualifications Good communication and administrative skills Good leadership qualities Commitment to the development of Softball Enthusiastic and dynamic personality Involved with softball Must be able to work well with others Must be willing to have a Police Records Check completed Responsibilities Have knowledge of and support Softball Ontario and related programs and promote the game of softball in general Liaise with Softball Associations and any other interested organizations Assist Program Coordinator in preparing information packages and reports Prepare or obtain articles for Softball Ontarios newsletters and other media Promote and provide briefings and presentations to groups, Softball Associations, Schools, Parks & Recreation Departments, etc. Take part in Participation Program Community Events (minimum of 1 per year) Attend and provide feedback at two Participation Committee meetings per year Promote the sport of Softball and Participation Programs in particular Attend and take an active role in the Get In The Game Symposium Participation Committee Members are appointed for a period of two (2) years.
