Toronto, ON- Softball Ontario is pleased to be able to offer
softball coaches and associations a discounted rate on the Dartfish
TeamPro v5.5 software package. Softball Ontario would like to
bring the game of softball to the next level with the use of
video analysis. Video analysis is a procedure in which a videotaped
softball skill is analyzed using a frame-by-frame inspection
of footage. Dartfish is the worlds best software program which
assists in the analysis by allowing a Softball Coach to:
Highlight key points of interest by selecting and noting key
moments within the skill
Add audio comments, text and drawing to selected key positions
Play reference video with key positions and notations to compare
with other videos
Synchronize two different videos to play together
Publish videos, key positions, drawings and annotations and voice
over
Softball Coaches will be able to take a video clip of a Pitcher,
Hitter or Fielder (or a softball player doing any softball skill)
and analyze it and be able to return the clip to the player with
detailed analysis format called a Media Book.
Dartfish Software is a tremendous tool for any Softball Coach
wanting the help themselves and their players learn through the
use of video technology. This program allows an easy transfer
of footage from the video camera to a personal computer. Dartfish
allows a Coach to play a clip of a skill in regular speed, any
number of slow motion speeds and it can advance a clip by clip
frame.
Beyond that, a Coach will have the ability to look at two video
clips side-by-side or top-and-bottom, or up to 4 different video
clips at the same time. Plus, a Coach can draw lines on the
screen, or magnify a certain part of a clip and even add a trail
of softballs to visually track the motion.

How the Software works:
A Softball Coach would use a video camera and film their athlete
Record each athletes footage to a video tape/dvd or connect
the video camera to a personal computer
Once each video was received, the user would then create a video
library
Compare swings, pitching and fielding mechanics to previous clips
and reference clips
Deliver the analysis to players, parents and fans
