Subject: Parry Island Hawks at ISC qualifier

The Parry Island Hawks traveled to Niagara Falls in hopes of securing a berth
to the 2012 ISC Mens World Championships. The Hawks are the First ever team
from Northern Ontario to attempt to play in the premier Fastpitch Tournament
on the planet. In game one vs the 18th ranked Niagara Snappers the boys from
the north loaded the bases in the top of the 1st inning but timely Pitching by
young Ian Wallwork of the Snappers stopped the Hawks from scoring the games
first run. Stranding base runners plagued the squad throughout the contest

GAME #2 HAWKS 2 WYVALE TRIBE 1
Solid defense and timely Hitting allowed The Hawks to stay alive in the double
knock out event. The Tribes Jason Giffen's steady dose of hard rise balls kept
the Islanders off the score sheet until the 6th inning when the Hawks scored a
pair to erase an early Stef Walma Home run to take the lead 2-1 and hold it to
make the final Hawks 2 Tribe 1

GAME #3 HAWKS 3 WATERDOWN HAMMER 2
A strong pitching performance by Frank Cox coupled with a never quit attitude
allowed the hawks to score 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning to beat a very
tough team in the veteran club from Waterdown 3-2

GAME #4 HAWKS 2 ELMIRA EXPOS 9
The winner of this game receives an automatic berth to the big dance in August
and the Expo bats showed early they wanted that berth in a big way scoring 3
runs in the bottom half of the first inning. Young lefty Dan Martin kept the
Hawk Bats at bay until the 5th inning when Hawks utility Player Joel Belanger
hit a solo Home run to put Parry island on the board, Veteran Pitcher Cory
Stolar added another solo shot for the hawks in the 6th Inning but it was not
enough as the Expos out scored the hawks by a final score of 9 -2.
The Parry Island Hawks would like to thank Blair Setford and his staff for a
great weekend of ball , also a big thanks to the Niagara Fury for having cold
Beverages throughout the weekend.the Hawks wish the 4 qualifying teams the best
of Luck at the World Tournament.* On a side note with the canceling of the
Wyvale Tournament the Hawks are exploring the idea of hosting a couple of teams
in Parry Island on the Canada day weekend if interested please contact Derek
