Subject: The Blue Crew story from the Peter Hallman Memorial Fastball Tournament.

Tim Whitelaw, UIC for the tournament has assigned umpires from 4 provinces to work this ISC qualifier.  Like the teams getting ready, so does the Blue Crew

Thanks

Dennis

THANK-YOU for your continuing support of the 'Blue Crew"! It is nice to be recognized as an important part of this game of Men's Fastball that we all love so much!

I have assembled a good mix of umpires for this innaugural tournament. Known prior as the  "Legends", the 'Peter Hallman Invitational" will no doubt continue to support major Men's Fastball in Ontario for years to come. There are numerous umpires from across Canada that have approached me to work this World Class Event! I have selected 11 umpires to cover the games, from 4 provinces!

Paul Baier from Stratford and Ed Otterman from Brantford are experienced Level 5's from Ontario. Both Paul and Ed have worked this tournament for years, and will assist me as well.

Darren Gerrior from Nova Scotia, and John Sullivan from Newfoundland/Labrador and now residing in Alberta are Canada's newest Level 5's, gaining that level at last years Sr. Men's in Stratford.

Mathieu Leclerc from Quebec is an experienced Men's Fastpitch umpire who worked here last year and is truly one of Canada's most promising up and coming "Blue"!

Adam Hook, from Barrie Ont will be joining us again this year and will no doubt add a wealth of experience at this level of ball!

Joining us locally are Rick Boyd from the Barrie area, who worked the World's last year, and also local favourite Trevor Topping from Kitchener. Trevor also worked the World's last year AND the Sr. Men's Canadians!

Mike Brito from Elmira and Moe Carde from Stratford, and rounding out the field--Fred Malatches from Cambridge will bring a lot of talent and enthusiasm to the Peter Hallman Memorial Fastball tournament.

Most of this crew will be working the ISC World's in Kitchener August 8th to the 16th, and EVERYONE is keen on making this tournament a HUGE success!!

I will be the Deputy Umpire-in-Chief at the Midget Boys Canadians in Gander Nfld this August and will be unavailable to work the ISC World's, but will certainly be following the action on Al's Fastball!!

Take care,
Tim Whitelaw
