I'm still in urgent need of help with this problem, so if anyone can shed any
light on it I'd be very grateful.
I've searched the egroups archive and the nearest I can get to it is a problem
raised by Marco Bagni (message no. 24,532). However, his error message is not
quite the same and it doesn't get me any further on.

Quick recap...

Running amrecover (2.4.1p1) to restore some NT files via Samba (2.06), 2
amanda tapes were requested.
The level 0 files came off the tape without any problems, but on trying to
recover files from the incremental tape
I received the following error:

amrecover: Error binding socket: Permission denied

I can't understand why the first tape works fine but the second one doesn't.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix for it or can anyone suggest a work
around. I know I could go back to using amrestore manually for each of the
tapes indicated by amrecover but, I think our customers would find this a bit
fiddly

TIA,

Julian Stevens
