Hi everybody:
I sent a message before to explain my problem. I have been using
amanda since few months ago for five machines, two of them are inside
the firewall and the rest are outside. I have a sonicwall firewall so
I don't have to configure anything on linux or something like that,
only I have to use the browser to do any change or upgrade, etc. Now
after lot work I can backup my machines outside the firewall but I
still have problems with some directories, the only way that I can
backup those directories is when I specify many sub directories inside
them
ex: I have problems with a directory /Local/Users inside of this
directory I have many sub directories and I have to use many levels
inside to get successfully result with amanda backup
ex: /Local/Users/sandra or another person, I don't know the reason for
this.
I am using amanda-2.4.2-19991216-beta.
the first machine outside the firewall with this problem, now it is
running redhat linux 6.2 with gnu tar version 1.13.17
The second one is running on Mac OS X server with gnu tar 1.13.17 too.
I compiled amanda with
./configure --with-tcpportrange=30000,30010
--with-udpportrange=770,780
and the user and group too (obviously)
and I defined in amanda configuration
an etimeout 800
runtapes 2 because before I was using 1 and I had problems so I had to
change, I don't have tape changer so I had to use chg-multi as I found
in Faq suggestions but the strange thing is that I though that I had to
use my holding disk and I had to use amflush the next day but it was
necessary.
I don't know if you need more details (if you do please let me know)
the error that I get every time when i am trying to backup those
directories is
mesg read: Connection reset by peer
