I was not able to reproduce a malloc failure with the 2.4.2 release code.
I don't think anything has changed since what you're running and that,
but it's possible.
If upgrading does not help, I guess you'll have to start digging into
the code to at least find out which free() call is triggering the error.
Or your system may come with some kind of malloc debugging library that
you could build Amanda against and see if that catches it.
Note that you only have to build amlabel (well, you have to build all
of Amanda but only test with amlabel). That will help.
