Hi "Thing", the Amanda-FAQ says: ---schnipp--- Q: Why does `amcheck' say `access as <username> not allowed...' A: There must be something wrong with .amandahosts configuration (or .rhosts, if you have configured --without-amandahosts). First, if the <username> is not what you expect (i.e., not what you have specified in the --with-user flag, at configure time), check the inetd configuration file: you must have specified the wrong username there. Make sure you specify the names exactly as they appear in the error message after the `@' sign in .amandahosts/.rhosts. You'll need a fully-qualified domain name or not, depending on how your client resolves IP addresses to host names. ---schnapp--- So create the file ".amandahosts" in your Amanda-Homedirectory with the entry "kascha backup". - If configured --without-amandahosts put the string in ".rhosts". Then perform a "amcheck -c config". Maybe you have to add your clients/hosts to "/etc/hosts".
