Do you suppose you could try this one again and post whatever error
message it generates?  I've been trying to figure out why this would
be so but so far it seems to me it should work.

Meanwhile the other bit about any machine behind the Masq-firewall being
able to run backups to the client outside the firewall does make sense
the way amanda currently works.  This is something we might want to
think about changing, though it might require someone to want it bad
enough to come along to do the work.  The fix would mean going from
basing system identification on DNS names to some other identifier.
