That's pretty much correct.

Actually, what you want is 15 runs per dump cycle.  If you run amdump
every day, and use one tape per run, these are the same.  But if you
only run it on weekdays, for instance, then runspercycle comes into play.
Or if you use two tapes per run, that would also be a factor.

Dumpcycle is measured in time (days, weeks, etc).  Runspercycle is how
many amdump runs will be made in one cycle.

If you run amdump every day and set dumpcycle to 15, the default unit
is "day" so you're telling Amanda to do a full dump every 15 days.
Assuming you're only using one tape per run (runtapes is 1), 30 days is
two dump cycles and also 30 tapes.  You don't have to set runspercycle
in this case because Amanda assumes, unless told otherwise, that one
run will be done per day.

If you only run amdump on weekdays, you would set dumpcycle to 21 days
(3 weeks) and runspercycle to 15.
